 What is TVedia

TVedia is a program to use a computer as a multi-media center. You can watch pause rewind and record TV, watch movies, play music and more.
The best thing about this program is the support for the XCard from Sigma Designs and the ability to write extensions for this program.
More information here: Homepage of TVedia

 Why this extension

TVedia does not have the ability to wake the computer from standby (S3 state) when a recording is scheduled. Also it does not put the computer into standby if it is idle for a long time.
You will have to keep your computer running all the time!

 What this extension does

The extension I wrote will do the following:

1. Record from standby.
The system will wakeup at the next scheduled time minus the buffertime set in TVedia options screen. This works for schedules made through the web interface and through the normal OSD screens. After the recording the systems will go into suspend mode again.

2. Auto suspend
Enter standby mode after a number of minutes when the user has not used the remote control for that period and tvedia is not recording or in pause. There will be a message on the TVscreen 4 minutes before auto-standby is executed. If the user changed anything for example the volume the auto standby timer is reset to its predefined value, if the user does nothing i.e. there is no one watching the system will go into suspend mode.

  •  Donations

This program is for free. However, a lot of work has gone into producing this program and maintaining this site.
To support further development of the software please donate something.
